General Frequently Asked Questions
- “What types of salvageable electronics does your company accept for recycling?”
Luminous Electronics Recycling, Inc. (LER) accepts most used electronics equipment, whether they are in working condition or not. Please view a full list of electronics LER recycles. If you do not find what you are looking for on the list, (located under the “Contact Us” navigation link), or please email us at info@luminousrecycling.com and one of our customer service representatives will contact you as soon as possible. - “Will I have to pay for recycling?”
The cost of electronics recycling services depends upon the quantity, quality, type of material being recycled, distance, and labor. The salvage value for equipment minimally covers the expenses of labor, pick up, assessment, and de-manufacturing. Electronic recycling facilities often charge a fee for certain services resulting in reduced recycling costs. Please contact us at 303-660-2000 to speak to a customer representative or contact us at info@luminousrecycling.com for a quote! - “We’ve used a local scrap dealer to dispose of our electronics at no charge. Sometimes the dealer will even pay us for our old electronics. How is LER different?”
Historically, these types of scrap dealers will remove materials with value and throw the rest in the garbage; along with potentially hazardous waste, business serial numbers, business asset tags, and information on any unformatted hard drives. LER charges a nominal fee for the management and recovery of reusable electronics commodities. This small cost gives you assurance that everything you bring to us is in fact recycled, and your privacy and security are never compromised. - “What about offsetting electronics recycling costs for working equipment?”
If applicable, offsets for surplus and non-obsolete equipment in good working order can be used against the electronics recycling charges. - “Will you recycle the e-waste I have at home?”
Absolutely! LER is committed to recycling all types of old electronics including televisions, cell phones, stereos, VCRs, and video game consoles. See a full list under “Contact Us” navigation link on our website. - “How should I pack my materials for shipping?”
See LER’s recommended shipping instructions under the “Contact Us” navigation Link on our website.
