Setting the standard We were the first and are the foremost U.S. operator of the CRT Angel which delivers the cleanest possible output of glass for recycling and the safest way to separate CRT glass. Imported from Europe and designed to meet the European Union’s stringent Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE),the CRT Angel is the most efficient and environmentally sound glass to glass solution available anywhere.
A safe and sound solution The CRT Angel uses rotating diamond saw technology within a contained and airtight enclosure. The Angel automatically measures each CRT and sizes it up for an exact and clean cut along the frit line that produces a perfect separation of the leaded funnel and unleaded panel. All of the toxin laden phosphor is vacuumed into a sealed container for proper capture. Workers are never exposed to toxic dust.
Responsible recycling We separate CRT unleaded panel glass from lead bearing funnel glass so we can deliver the highest quality output of both glasses to improve recycling efficiency and opportunity. A common method for CRT processing is crushing which results in a mixed and impure glass output which limits re-use options.
